Wrexham enter race to sign Cherif
Latest from Your Site News' Anthony Joseph, James Savundra & Rob Dorsett:
Wrexham have entered the race to sign Angers forward Sidiki Cherif.
Its understood the Welsh club have opened talks with the French side to explore the conditions of a deal for the 19-year-old.
Crystal Palace continue to work on a deal for Cherif and remain confident of signing him, but will not overpay.
Your Site News reported on Tuesday that Palace's latest offer was for an initial loan that would include an obligation to buy if certain conditions were met.
The proposed package, which included a 2.6m loan fee, was worth 13.1m.
It is understood that the Ligue 1 club are holding out for a full package worth around 17.4m. They appear to have come down on their initial demand of 21.8m.
If Wrexham were to table an official offer, it is likely to be a potential record fee for the club and possibly even the Championship.
Wrexham broke their transfer record for a third time last summer when they signed Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town in a deal worth 10m.

Elliott's future remains uncertain
Your Site News' Chris Reidy speaking on Harvey Elliott on the Transfer Show:
"We know the situation with Harvey Elliott. He signed from Aston Villa on loan from Liverpool. Someone there just doesn't fancy him.
"Once he plays a certain amount of games, the transfer becomes permanent. Unai has basically said they don't want that to happen. Arne Slot has come out and said he's an Aston Villa player.
"The problem is, he's played for two Premier League clubs. He can't play for another, which leaves MLS club Charlotte FC interested. For his career, I'm not sure he wants to go to the MLS.
"It's another example of Villa's PSR issues. The fee that was agreed was 35m. Maybe they've looked at that and gone, even though he's a good player, we can't do that."
